Young Gujarati parents who raise their children away from India often feel the need to connect their kids to the mother tongue. They like to teach Gujarati to their kids through basic vocabulary, hymns, prayers and folk songs which represent their cultural roots. This helps them communicate with their child in Gujarati while at home.

Each language has oral traditions which get passed from one generation to another. These include ceremonies, festivals and rituals. Realizing the need of children to be connected to their culture, KIDLOL was established to provide interesting illustrated material for children. It was conceptualized in the year 2020 during the Covid lockdown.

In a world where English language has taken centre stage as the language of communication, it is important to teach toddlers and young children their mother tongue. KIDLOL Books endeavour to meet this goal of introducing the basic Gujarati vocabulary to children of 0 to 5 years of age.
